Nasi Lemak

- Mixed Media/Food Art (2023)
- Finalist of ASM Art Science Award
- Exhibited in the Balai Seni Maybank
Utilizing organic ingredients (rice, dried chilies, banana leaf, coconut husk, eggshells), the creation of this artwork is to provide an alternate, closer-to-home (and heart) narrative for Malaysians to look at the causal relationships between climate change and the food system.

This artwork encompasses my ambition, which hopefully could emerge as a call for the artist community in Malaysia to recreate strong, compelling, and relevant icons, to help the people in this part of the world to feel the climate emergency and empower actions at the individual level!

Cho's  Shoyu Plate

- 3D printed shoyu plate (2022)
I admire Seong-Jin Cho, the winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition 2015 a lot. One day, I decided to buy a 3D printer, build a model, and print some Shoyu dishes with his face - it worked!

le
cœur

- Ink on Linen (2013)
“Lost opportunities, lost possibilities, feelings we can never get back. That's part of what it means to be alive. But inside our heads - at least that's where I imagine it - there's a little room where we store those memories. A room like the stacks in this library. And to understand the workings of our own heart we have to keep on making new reference cards. We have to dust things off every once in awhile, let in fresh air, change the water in the flower vases. In other words, you'll live forever in your own private library.”
― Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

la            ventana

- pencil & digital painting (2021)
- published in Lanai Zine (2nd issue)

Have you noticed that the real function of doors and windows are in fact contradictory?
A door seems to exist to make an enclosed space usable. Its purpose is to keep the space secure and locked.

As for the existence of a window, it is to widen the horizon of enclosed space -

allowing air to flow and light to come in.

Zimerman & Cho's dinner

- watercolor illustration (2022)

An illustration based on the rendezvous of the two greatest pianists, Krystian Zimerman and Seong-jin Cho. It was inspired by an interview article by Young-Jin Hur. The cyberpunk color tone is to capture the moment of the specific time-space, recreating the image of Alphaville, as appeared in Haruki Murakami's novel, After dark.

The universal truth for an amnesia fish

- Acrylic painting (2012)
- Featured in the Bok Tjuv's "This is how we steal it" exhibition(2012)
Contrary to Dali's persistence of memory, what about the constant loss of memories? Does space-time really matter when your memory refreshes automatically every 7 seconds? What are red and green like to a protanopia? The perceived defects in our eyes could be perfectly fine for the fishes and bunnies. They are complete.
