A Community-Centred Educational Model for developing Social Resilience (ACES) x Time to Rice

Another milestone for Time to RICE !

The "Introduction to Time to Rice Workshop" is happening tomorrow, Saturday 28th August 4pm (GMT+8)! This virtual webinar is hosted by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Gamification Centre with organisational support from the #ACES Project (A #Community-Centred Educational Model for developing #SocialResilience)

The workshop presents practical ideas for Science teachers to integrate local issues about Climate Change, and the impact they have on food security , specifically Rice. Let our Guardian of Nasi Lemak, Zhai Gen Tan take you through a journey where Nasi Lemak becomes extinct as Rice becomes scarce. Through snapshots of a series of carefully designed interactive activities, participants will co-create interventions and solutions which are relevant to the local values and lifestyles. The key takeaway for Science teachers would be about how urgent it is to address climate change issues in a scientific creative inquiry, within the context of current global developments.

A big thanks to Dr Aazani Mujahid, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fitri Mohamad, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jacey-Lynn Minoi and team for your tremendous effort and support given!
